WHO is ALPRUNNING

Alprunning was born out of my passion for mountaineering and trailrunning in particular. And there is nothing better than pushing your limits with like-minded people and, above all, enjoying the majestic Alps together.

I am Siebe van Waarde, an experienced trail runner and mountain sports enthusiast. My heart is in the mountains, whether it is winter and I brave the snowy slopes for a solid ski tour, freeride adventure or a cosy winter sport with my family or in summer where I run on breathtaking trails, experience climbing adventures, hike and, of course, relax.

With 20 years of experience in the Royal Netherlands Marine Corps, where I led and instructed teams and trainees in mountainous and extreme environments, I have a strong foundation to safely take adventurous souls on trail running adventures to the Alps.

My interest in endurance sports and trail running in particular led me to study exercise physiology and exercise science, With the aim of optimally preparing athletes for trail running races and Alprunning adventures. With the MountainFit programme, I guide runners to their goals in a professional way.

Locations

Trail running trips in the Dachstein Mountains are organised from  Chalet Filzmoos. Due to its location at the foot of the Dachstein Mountains, Chalet Filzmoos is an ideal starting point for beautiful trail runs. Because of my knowledge of this area, I can offer a unique experience. But Alprunning also organises trail running trips elsewhere in the Alps, such as the Wallis Advanced and the Alprunning Expert trips in Switzerland. I am no longer a stranger to this area either.

Alprunning pillars:

Small-scale and personal: By keeping the groups small, there is personal attention and everyone can feel safe and confident in the group. Small scale also allows more technical routes to be run.
Groundbreaking: Alprunning trips are characterised by challenging routes, technical terrain and a lot of vertical. Which ensures you to bring out the best in yourself.
Enjoyment: Working hard, relaxing hard. The inner body is well taken care of and there is enough time and space to relax and recover, also during the trail runs.
Safety: Every participant should feel safe, even though the programme can be groundbreaking, safety is number one and days are adjusted if necessary due to weather or group composition.
